How To Remove Urine Smells From Your Upholstery

Wednesday, November 4th, 2015

Removing the smell of urine from armchairs, sofas, and couches can prove to be difficult for even the most determined of cleaners. The absorbent nature of such furnishings is what makes the complete removal of urine odour tricky as the offending liquid often penetrates far deeper than one might imagine.

Attempting to clean a urine soaked piece of upholstery is a tricky business, especially for the layperson. Calling on the services of professional upholstery cleaning company like Clean Direct may well prove to be the only way to thoroughly clean the area affected.

The Importance Of Clean Carpets For Children’s Health

Monday, August 3rd, 2015

Although the vast majority of us would rather not think about it, our carpets are havens for all manner of unsavoury things. Mould, mildew and dust mites will all thrive in your carpet if you let them, and that’s without mentioning all of the other filth that a carpet is capable of collecting.

Chemicals, faeces and any number of other unwanted stowaways can be brought into the home via the soles of our shoes, leaving your carpet far from clean. It is with this information in mind that we consider the correlation between the health of our children and the cleanliness of our carpets.

Wednesday, December 17th, 2014

There are many joys involved when it comes to pet ownership, but all owners will have to cope with the not-so-joyous pet stains on their carpets at some point or another. Those of us who are training puppies will have to deal with a lot of little accidents during the first few months, sometimes even longer.

Parents who buy pets for their kids will usually be the ones in charge of removing any mishaps, and they will need to be ready for them. We can address some of these problems by having the right set of cleaning materials on hand, but they may require professional assistance eventually.

Saturday, November 1st, 2014

Red wine is a popular drink for those who wish to unwind at home. It is also commonly served at dinner parties and other events that people host in their own abodes. Unfortunately, this deep, dark beverage is often spilled. Once it saturates the carpet and soaks deep into the carpet padding, it can cause major problems. Not only is this fermented juice from purple grapes capable of causing stains, but these stains are also glaringly obvious.

Fortunately, you can learn how to get rid of red wine stains from your favourite carpet by using a number of common, household products. From white vinegar to table salt and baking soda, there are a number of low-cost applications that can be used to address spills like these.

Ride for Rachael

Monday, September 15th, 2014

This is a non-carpet cleaning related post.

Mark from Clean Direct will be taking on a 80 mile bike ride with his friend Chris to raise money for a close family friend who has been diagnosed with cancer in August. This family friend is a 12 year old girl who should have her whole life ahead of her but she has been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma a really rare form of primary bone cancer on her left femar and it has spread to her lungs which gives her a 25% chance.

All funds raised will go towards equipment which Rachael needs to make her as comfortable as possible and then towards a family holiday to Disney land once she has recovered. Details of the ride are below:

Two great friends Mark Thornton and Chris Courtis are going to do a Ride For Rachael on the 28/09/2014 the ride consist of Brownswood to Harlington Station (12 Miles) Train to London then London to Milton Keynes via The Grand Union Canal (68 Miles) Total Ride 80 Miles, We hope to complete this in 6/7 hours riding time but neither of them have rode past 35 miles before so this will be a good challenge and is a great cause in Rachael.

Please donate if you can, anything and everything will help.
